National Account / Sales Manager ? Food Industry Based in Newhouse / Eurocentral area with some travel across the UK If you are keen to enhance your experience and career within an exciting, award winning & rapidly expanding food manufacturing organisation offering a superb working environment, great training and career path, this could be the role for you Newly created role with a multiple award winning & rapidly expanding food manufacturing company for an Experienced (National) Account Manager / Sales Manager with a track record in a similar role within the food/drinks industry. Food industry or drinks industry experience is ESSENTIAL and experience of working with the Procurement functions / Buyers within the major multiples / supermarkets/ retailers is beneficial. Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, your remit will be highly varied combining account management activities together with new business development working with a customer base across the UK. The Account Manager role is crucial to the company?s success in providing the main point of contact between the Company and its Customers. The successful candidate will have a food industry background and will play a significant role in contributing to an increase in sales to meet strategic business goals by establishing and maintaining its company-customer relationships at a high standard. Customer base ranges from specialist retailers and wholesalers to major supermarkets across the UK. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The National Account / Sales Manager is responsible for planning and fulfilling appropriate sales activities to meet and exceed short, medium and long term sales, volume and profit targets. You will be based at the company?s site based on the M8 corridor with travel across the UK. A full driving licence and car is essential. Your key responsibilities will focus on building strong commercial relationships and delivering excellent customer service; further developing and enhancing existing relationships, generating new business; answering and following up on sales leads; introducing new products; monitoring monthly and quarterly sales performance and using the information to drive actions that will continue to increase sales. CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS - Build strong and honest relationships with existing and new customers and strengthen relations with all leading retailers to ensure their loyalty and advocacy of the company: ?Maintain and develop relationships through planned individual account support; ?Coach and mentor internal company functions to give the highest level of customer service to national accounts; ?Monitor incoming orders and ensure these are fulfilled effectively; ?Investigate and resolve queries and issues raised by national accounts, reacting quickly and professionally to keep the customer happy; ?Monitor and report monthly on sales activities and provide relevant sales information in comparison to targets; ?Liaise and attend meetings with the team necessary to perform duties and help with business and sales development; ?Maintain existing and develop new product knowledge; ?Identify trends and opportunities in the market by on-going competitor research, visiting trade shows, reading the trade press and obtaining information from customers; ?Prepare and attend business reviews to discuss opportunities for sales and agree on actions that will achieve sales targets; ?Work with the NPD team to meet customer demands for new products; ?Divide your time effectively: supporting existing customers and engaging with new ones; ?Maintain a customer relationship management process and system which will help theorganisation to stay in contact with customers and respond to, and meet customer needs; ?Establish active lines of communication with all customers through emails, newsletters, providing updates on events, product or service advancements and other news that will help to build connection; ?Engage customers in the business, finding ways of actively involving them in the development or improvement of the business, and become involved in customers? business to find ways of improving their business. SALES & MARKETING ? Increase sales and report monthly on changes in sales and achievement of targets. ?Manage ongoing sales and sales development activities; ?Coordinate with the Sales & Marketing Director to negotiate pricing and contracts; ?Develop profitable additional trading opportunities in the current account base; ?Formulate, measure and control customer promotions; ?Ongoing development of forecasting, sales reporting and sales analytics; ?Monitor sales and take corrective actions where necessary; ?Ensure sales requirements flow to production; ?Deputise for the Sales & Marketing Director in their absence; ?Efficiently handle all sales aspects of marketing to introduce and promote the brand and products to current and potential customers ?Help to shape the marketing plan through market and competitor research; ?Develop field sales action plans and marketing to deliver marketing and our sales goals; ?Support the creation, delivery and follow up of internal communications to ensure that all employees are kept informed of the brand and products; ?Support the production, distribution and follow up of external communications including social media campaigns and marketing literature; ?Demonstrate and offer new products to customers; ?Create innovative methods of selling the products, even in the face of a slow market; ?Monitor and report on marketing analytics to understand the impact of marketing and social media campaigns. CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT ? ?Identify opportunities for improvement in sales and marketing processes and strategies; ?Engage colleagues in ongoing improvement activity, creating opportunities for people to contribute ideas and identify solutions to issues as they arise. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE This is a hands-on role for an experienced Account Sales Executive. You'll have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, together with strong numerical skills and the ability to understand and interpret data. You'll be highly organised with the ability to plan and schedule your time effectively and solve problems quickly. You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of growing sales and profitability on a continuous basis within the food or drinks industry and experience of working with Buyers / the procurement function within the major multiples / supermarkets/ retailers is beneficial. An account management / sales background within the food or drinks industry is ESSENTIAL ? we are unable to consider candidates without this experience. You'll have experience of preparing for, attending and contributing positively at trade events on a regular basis. You'll be experienced in the use of Microsoft Office suite applications including Excel. You'll have a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle .
