The company This job is working for a very well-established and respected chilled and frozen ready meal manufacturer supplying into the retailer and food service markets. Always at the forefront of product development and innovation they have continually invested in new facilities and the latest technologies and are currently in the process of opening a 36,000 square foot factory extension.
Main Responsibilities: To oversee and take accountability of the High Care area to ensure all production lines are managed effectively and efficiently utilising the area to its maximum capacity to ensure production effectiveness and compliance with Operational Standards. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively manage 5 production lines through the line leaders to attain the production plan in terms of efficiency and labour management.
  • Ensure operational efficiency of 5 line sealing machines and metal detectors are managed through High Care Supervisors.
  • Manage product quality through following High Risk Guidelines to maintain product quality.
  • Ensure effective communication to all personnel of additional products required.
  • To ensure communication is maintained between High Care and relevant department supervisors in order to determine cooking order of products to maximise operational efficiency of the High Care area.
  • Manage the High Care Supervisors to ensure all Company documentation is correctly and accurately completed in accordance with Operating Procedures including Product Passports, Trolley Counts, Transfer Documents, Weight Checks, Metal Detection Records.
  • Devise succession plan in conjunction with the HR Manager to maintain current level of skill set within the area. Identify individual team members training needs and develop PDP's with support from the HR Manager.
  • Maintain a positive working environment at all times.
  • Ensure High Care Support Supervisors are completing accurate portioning counts reports on an hourly basis.
  • Report any production issues in a timely manner to the relevant department. Ensure all reasons for downtime are recorded and reported to Senior Management.
  • To ensure accurate data is collated and reported to the Senior Management Team.
  • Ensure product change over process is managed efficiently in order to minimise production downtime.
  • Oversee the compilation and implementation of OP documentation and training plans to promote a multi skilled team within the area.
  • Ensure all production targets are met on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all High Care areas are cleaned to the highest hygiene standards and complete area checks at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure High Care KPIs are met for product quality and production. High Care KPIs include waste management, manufacturing product on time and in full, minimising downtime and improving product quality.
  • Carry out any other reasonable business request as and when instructed to do so.
  • Ensure staffing levels are maintained within the labour model.
  • Report any staffing issues to the HR Manager.
  • Ensure the effective use of Labour at all times to minimise labour costs.
  • Ensure all staff are trained fully in Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure the High Care area is operated in accordance with Health and Safety requirements.
  • Ensure the High Care area is managed within the parameters of the Critical Control Points and report any anomalies immediately to a Manager of the business.
  • Ensure all High Care areas are maintained and cleaned to the highest level of Hygiene standards.
  • Report any mechanical breakdowns immediately to the Factory Manager and Maintenance Department to minimise production downtime.
