There are opportunities to join RSSL as an Experienced Analytical Chemist utilising various techniques including Chromatography, Wet Chemistry, Mass Spectroscopy and ICP. These opportunities focus on the Pharmaceutical and FMCG industries and can be investigative or routine in nature. Purpose of the role: In RSSL an Experienced Analytical Chemist undertakes a practical role with various technical supervisory responsibilities. You?ll train junior members of the team as required and take part in client contact. In addition, you?ll play a key role in ensuring that projects are performed and supervised effectively and accurately within agreed timescales and to appropriate quality standards. Main Responsibilities. Technical: Provide high quality customer service by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.Perform analyses in your specialist area independently and provide interpretation of the generated results as required.Perform method verification and design study protocols with support.Assist with technical aspects for client proposalsProvide training and supervise junior staff in routine activities and methods. Communication & Influence: Liaise with clients, business development and line management to ensure effective communication of project proposals and results.Participate in client and stake holders meetings as requiredManage small projects or defined areas of larger projectsTrain junior members of the team in routine methods QEHS: Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring that appropriate COSHHs, risk assessments and SOPs are understood and followed. To complete assigned quality actions on a timely manner Assist with the documentation of SOPs for simple equipment and tests and generation of Risk Assessments and COSHH To maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.To understand and work to the requirements of GMP and UKAS. Ensure training records are accurate.Qualifications Candidate Requirements:Prior industry experience in analytical chemistryRelevant academic qualification or vocational trainingAbility to independently conduct chemical analysis English fluency (written and spoken).Experience of working in the GMP or UKAS accredited environment preferredPrior experience in the pharmaceutical or food industries not prerequisite.
