Kippie Lodge Sports and Country Club is a private members club on the outskirts of Aberdeen. The Club offers a diverse range of sports and leisure activities to its members. The food and beverage operation is an integral part of the Club. Food & Beverage Manager: The role of food and beverage manager is a key element of the leadership team. You will have the drive and experience to develop your team to provide exceptional customer service. Your passion and knowledge will encourage a strong team spirit and ensure your team has the training and skills required to deliver an outstanding members? experience Duties: All aspects of the food and beverage operation will be your responsibility. You will be supported by the Club Director and the Management Committee. Menu planning and design experience will be critical. In conjunction with the head chef you will design seasonal menus, using where possible locally sourced ingredients, that meet the members? needs, expectations and requirements. Delivering excellent customer service is critical. Repeat business is key to growth. You will be responsible for building a team of committed, motivated and well-trained people. Recruitment and training will be your responsibility. You will develop and ensure implementation of training plans. You will monitor the effectiveness of training and development through regular appraisals of your team. You will be responsible for the day to day health and safety management, ensuring legislative requirements are met. You will ensure that all relevant risk assessments are in place, reviewed and updated where necessary. You will be visible and spend a proportion of your time operationally, leading the team during service and engaging with the members regularly. The departmental profit and loss will be your responsibilities, you will compile and manage the departmental budget. You will have the financial skills to ensure the margins are met and payroll costs controlled. In conjunction with the marketing co-ordinator you will seek opportunities for external business such as conferencing, weddings and corporate events. In conjunction with the Club Director and Sports and Spa manager you will ensure interdepartmental communication is effective. You will operate as duty manager in the absence of the Club director Additional Skills: Minimum of three years? experience in a similar role. Have comprehensive understanding of COSHH (control of substances hazardous to health) and HACCP food safety (hazard analysis and critical control points. Be an excellent verbal and written communicator. Have the skills to motivate your team and delegate effectively Be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office software and restaurant epos systems. Qualifications Have a relevant hospitality or business qualification Three years-experience in a similar role Advanced food hygiene qualification (this can be obtained after recruitment) Personal licence qualification (this can be obtained after recruitment) Hours and Place of Work The role is based at Kippie Lodge Sports and Country Club in Aberdeen, the hours of work are 40 hours per week based on five days out of seven.
