We have an exciting opportunity for a Food & Beverage Manager to manage a fantastic, friendly team here at Rainham Hall. You?ll work front of house and behind the scenes leading the catering team to deliver outstanding customer service, while ensuring that high standards of food preparation and health and safety procedures are at the heart of everything we produce. Internally you'll be known as 'Catering Manager'. What it's like to work here Situated in the heart of Rainham village, in the outer London Borough of Havering, the Hall, Stables Café and Community Gardens opened fully for the first time in 2015 following a major conservation and interpretation project. Surrounded by a contrasting landscape of marshland and industry, Rainham Hall is a unique urban property with an ambitious changing exhibition programme. Volunteering and social engagement is at the centre of our approach and we?re keen to encourage skills development across a variety of opportunities. With the Café and Community Gardens being free to enter, the site is firmly rooted in the local community. What you'll be doing As Food & Beverage Manager at Rainham Hall, you?ll be responsible for the overseeing our small but busy catering operation. Using your innovation and expertise, you?ll be an effective manager leading and motivating a busy team from the forefront to ensure that great results are consistently delivered, and visitor?s expectations are continually exceeded. We can get really busy here, so you'll be ready and willing to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in with food preparation and serving customers too. You?ll also be playing your part in making sure that this special place is looked after so that it can be available forever, for everyone. The profit that the food and beverage operation generates enables The National Trust look to after a whole range of special places. We restore them, protect them and open them up to everyone. Working with your team and other property teams you?ll look for commercial opportunities to strengthen our financial sustainability. You?ll instil a culture of exceptional customer service and ensure we provide an excellent food and beverage offer using local produce. You?ll work with your team to engage with our visitors and help them understand the importance of the work that goes on at Lavenham Guildhall. You?ll combine your catering expertise with your experience of managing a food outlet, to look for efficiencies in our catering operation. You?ll deliver ongoing improvements across a set of KPIs including financial budgets, labour, GP and net contribution targets, visitor enjoyment, staff and volunteer recommendation measures. You?ll always be looking for improvements to be made by a continuous cycle of review, implement, consolidate and grow. Who we're looking for As the Food & Beverage Manager, you?ll have experience leading people within a catering operation previously. You?ll love being a positive role model and are naturally able to inspire people to deliver exceptional customer service whilst understanding the bigger picture. You?ll be; Customer service and sales focused Commercially astute, always looking for ways to maximise opportunities An excellent communicator with strong influencing skills Innovative and be able to implement new ideas Experience of managing a team across multiple outlets Working towards delivering both financial and customer satisfaction targets Experience of managing budgets Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements Experience of developing a great catering offering The package Please note that the salary advertised is inclusive of an additional Outer London Weighting allowance of £2,690 perannum.
