What it's like to work here It's an exciting time to join our team at Upton, over the next three years we?d like to take our visitors on a journey from the 1927 sale and renovation of the house and gardens, to the decoration and design choices the Bearsteds made, culminating with a series of exhibitions around collecting and displaying the art collection and presenting the re-designed gardens. What you'll be doing You'll be working on both a strategic and operational level to lead and deliver our plans to grow the Food & Beverage experience for our visitors, whilst balancing this with the high expectations of our visitors to be provided with fantastic products and service. As well as this strategic approach, you will work on the ground with your highly skilled team. Whether this be leading training sessions, leading the very busy days or acting as duty manager; you will be accessible and "in amongst it" You'll think about the big picture and take a holistic approach to your role, but there are times to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into the detail with your teams. As a member of the senior leadership team, you?ll be involved in delivering the property business plan, leading a team of staff and volunteers, and controlling budgets. Please note that this role will require weekend working, bank holidays and duty management cover. Who we're looking for In order to be successful in the role you?ll need to have; Experience as a leader of people, managing teams of regular staff, seasonal staff and volunteers The ability to inspire your teams to deliver the best service possible The ability to identify new opportunities and make strategic decisions for the future of your department Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with other Heads of Department at the property Excellent people management skills.
