1. To be responsible for the effective supervision of your shift and/or allocated restaurant section, within the overall policies and controls established by the Company and hotel General Manager. 2. To support the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of departmental operating standards, maximising revenue return and attaining financial targets. 3. To actively promote Brand values and constantly deliver high levels of guest service. 4. This position reports directly to the F&B Service Manager. Duties and Responsibilities 1. To manage and demonstrate high quality guest care within the team to meet the service requirements of the hotel. 2. To support the creation of a team environment which promotes good employee morale and ensures a high level of commitment and pride in the hotel. 3. To assist guests throughout their stay in a friendly and professional manner, effectively resolving guest?s queries and complaints. To inform the F&B Service Manager of any complaints and compliments received. 4. To maintain a selling culture throughout the department, ensuring that team members positively approach sales opportunities and promotions in order to maximise revenue and exceed budgeted targets. 5. To lead the team on your shift, supervising and instructing team members in accordance with Company standards. 6. To be fully aware of budgeted and actual departmental financial targets including revenue, gross profits, average spends. 7. To ensure the restaurant is ready for service and agreed ambiance maintained e.g. lighting, background music etc, constantly monitoring food presentation and service to ensure Company standards are met. 8. To assist with meeting, greeting and seating of guests in a friendly, courteous and efficient manner. 9. To assist in taking guest orders promptly and accurately according to agreed procedures. 10. To ensure billing procedures are followed and revenue capture is maximised. 11. To exercise effective stock rotation and maintain stock levels in accordance with hotel business, ensuring all products are displayed according to Company policy. 12. To ensure all procedures that are put in place by the Operations Manager are followed and maintained at all times. 13. To ensure the security of the department and that all fixtures and equipment are cared for, operated, cleaned and maintained according to Company standards and report any maintenance defects to senior Management immediately. 14. To continuously coach and counsel team members and assist with their recruitment, training and appraisal ensuring they are effectively deployed in line with the Company policy and the departmental manning budget. 15. To follow up on all audits such as Health and Safety, Food Safety, HR, finance and surveys such as guest service as required in order to enhance the environment and achieve positive consistent results. 16. To hold staff briefings and meetings to promote issues such as team building, operational procedures, guest service, innovation, best practice and attend required training and communications meetings ensuring staff do likewise. 17. To ensure compliance with all statutory and Company policies throughout department including Fire, Health and Safety, Food Safety, Risk Assessment, Data Protection, welfare and equality . 18. To undertake any other duties requested by Management. 19. To review business levels and ensure your shift is adequately covered in the absence of the F&B Service Manager. 20. Ensure that you close and do the cash up for all of your shifts. 21. To ensure that all check lists and schedules are auctioned, monitored and maintained daily.
