An opportunity has arisen for a Food Production Operative to work for a highly successful food manufacturing company in Maidstone. You will be working in a chilled, high risk environment. Ideally you will have a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate and a knowledge of good manufacturing practices. In addition to this, you will be numerate and literate and computer literacy is advantageous. The operation involves manually mixing ingredients to a specific recipe, packing into containers and labelling. This is a very physical role with manual handling of boxes and tubs of ingredients. Other duties include receiving of ingredients: Visual check of packaging, temperature checks and confirmation of goods received against orders, unloading and storage. Also monitoring of storage temperatures and correct stock rotation. Hours of work are 8.30am to 4.30pm or 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. The position is a temporary role initially but will lead to permanent employment for the right candidate after 12 weeks.
