Food Service Business Development Manager - Education Sector Field Based - Southern Region My client is the leading seafood processor providing frozen, chilled, branded and retailer branded fish. They are looking for an experienced Food Service Business Development Manager to join their team, with experience of the Education sector. Job Purpose To develop & grow the sales and margin contribution to agreed targets on both existing and new end user customers in the Foodservice Education Sector (Primary, Secondary, College & University level) market place through product and business propositions delivered via a nominated Foodservice Wholesaler in line with the Foodservice Business Plan. Key Accountabilities Develop new and existing Education sector business opportunities through intense customer facing activities. Possess a sound understanding, have extensive key contacts and knowledge of the Education sector, Wholesale sector, Contract Caterers ,the Foodservice market and the relevant trends. Have a deep knowledge and understanding of the schools nutritional standards and the schools food trust guidelines. To fully engage with various trade bodies such as LACA,TUCO,NACC Contribute as an active member of the Foodservice Sales and Marketing team in driving the Foodservice business towards rapid and profitable growth. Assume direct responsibility for Allocated Key Accounts. Ensure that all strategies and tactics agreed within the Foodservice Management team e implemented. To provide key end user account customer focus, building genuine, sharing multi-disciplinary supportive partnerships that jointly seek to generate unique solutions. To ensure the achievement of set targets and objectives, as agreed as part of the Management Performance process. To develop and implement innovative sales and marketing strategies for customers in support of the agreed sales targets. Participate in the forecasting and budget process and contribute essential volumes information to ensure high levels of customer service. Ensure regular and appropriate reporting and communication procedures are followed for all areas of responsibility in a timely manner. Attend regular Sales & Marketing meetings To participate fully in all authorised exhibitions and presentations as and when requested to do so. All employees are required to be flexible and co-operative to meet business needs. To take reasonable care within the health and safety legislation of self and others, ensuring compliance at all times. Skills and Experience Required 5 years' experience of driving sales and/or business development results within the Education sector environment. Detailed knowledge and experience of the Education Sector, LACA, LEA, Contract Caterer, TUCO and University accounts and key relationships is essential Detailed knowledge and experience of Foodservice Wholesale Distributor teams, and key relationships is essential Detailed knowledge and understanding of the schools nutritional standards and the schools food trust guidelines. Keen interest in food and food/menu trends. Experience of fish or protein categories is desirable although not essential. Evidence of creativity and innovation in identifying and delivering opportunities, both in the short term and for future menus Able to act on own initiative and impress others while doing so. Ability to set and deliver goals and deadlines which are realistic and challenging. Takes deliberate and calculated risks to gain benefit and advantage over the competition. Ability to present to individuals and groups, create a good first impression and inspire confidence and commitment in others. Influential in establishing partnerships and alliances to achieve objectives. Ability to network internally and externally to achieve business objectives. Able to communicate, organise and allocate resources efficiently, and manage time effectively to achieve objectives. Ability to adapt to a changing environment whilst maintaining rapport and goodwill. Literate in key computer skills e.g Powerpoint,Excel,Word Key Challenges Achievement of sales and profitability targets. Identification and delivery of new opportunities.
