Fresh Food Manufacturing (great shift patterns) Location: Leicestershire Salary: c£35-45,000 benefits Our Client is a market leader in their field and is looking for three exceptional Shift Production Managers to bring insightful leadership to their well-loved food brand. We are seeking candidates with exceptional leadership skills and the technical and communication skills to deliver great service to their prestigious Clients. Working one of two 3 day on 3 day off patterns either 6am ? 6pm or 9am-9pm you will great energy and the expertise to manage change in a solutions led manner. The role: The Shift Production Manager defines and leads the contribution of the plant production teams to ensure the factory delivers superior products at the right cost and on time. Monitors the SQCDME (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Motivation / Safety) performance level of the Production Unit. Ensures that a continuous improvement process is effectively in place to improve permanently the QCDM targets. You will contribute to and execute the Factory Strategic plan coaching the Production Teams towards operational excellence through best practices and manufacturing standards. The Shift Production Manager is primarily responsible for managing the production operations by executing production activities and providing timely and relevant data to support planning and decision making processes. You will be a professional who has a working knowledge of the technical details of production, who can provide leadership to other professionals in the department, who can analyse new and evolving situations, who can communicate goals and objectives to others and who is able to work well with peers from other disciplines. Additionally, you will be a champion and an industry leader in food safety and defence, exceeding all audit standards. Develop a zero risk operating culture and guarantee a safe environment Secure Product Superiority through minimised product variability and spec consistency using Q&FS guidelines Ensure the implementation of Innovation Projects respecting agreed lead time and product specifications (First Time Right) Lead the process for organising, controlling and utilising all resources, human and materials to maximise achievement of the Masterplan for your area within prescribed timescales Apply Lean & methodology to accelerate Performance Rate of Improvement Deliver the Productivity projects identified Use internal & external benchmarks to drive continued improvements Lead large operations teams coaching and developing to ensure the very best is achieved by each team member Strengthen the Production Teams by creating cells structure and foster proximity leadership Develop talented Team Leaders who can further grow in the business Implements established departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures supporting corporate strategy, mission, and objective Establishes work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals Reviews production costs and product quality, and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division Reviews performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement Manages the movement of goods into and out of production department Confers with other Shift Production Managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments. Provides leadership to all areas of the production department and ensures a productive and engaged workforce. Leads by example. Ensures compliance with Health & Safety Standards and promotes a safe work environment. Plays major role in Safety initiatives. Takes the lead in identifying performance issues and providing guidance, coaching and progressive discipline as needed. Communicates issues encountered such as raw material problems, finished product rejections and equipment malfunction to the plant manager as well as quality control and maintenance. Monitors line equipment for functionality, safety and cleanliness Holds regular Team Leader achievement meetings discussing a variety of department related issues. Works with HR to ensure all HR related polices are being followed including attendance policy. The person: Degree educated or equivalent in a relevant discipline Required production management experience and leading production teams ideally within a food or quality driven environment must have managed managers High energy with a positive solutions focused outlook Ability to establish and react to changing priorities Experience with budget and cost management ability challenge and improve numbers Ability to add value to the current set of measurements to improve what?s being measured Strong influential ability; ability to interact successfully with all levels of management. Strong problem solving skills; ability to make decisions with limited information and to handle uncertainty and change. Process-oriented; able to identify process improvements and implement change successfully. Experience of implementing continuous improvement processes particularly for improving reliability of equipment Knowledge of inventory and preventative maintenance systems Demonstrated problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills Ability to give and receive thorough instructions and communicate effectively with all employees Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Effective business writing and presentation skills Thorough knowledge of GMP?s, HACCP and BRC. Proven track record within a Continuous Improvement Environment. Ability to lead, develop, train, and motivate workforce while at the same time ensuring a healthy work environment and a high level of employee engagement.
